Armenia bans import of poultry meat from southern Russia

Armenia bans import of poultry meat from southern Russian provinces of Stavropol and Krasnodar .

the ban has been imposed to avoid the penetration of Newcastle Illness (fowl pest) into the country.

Thus, the ban applies to imports of all types of live poultry, all types of poultry products, feathers and down, commodity and hatching eggs, meat and bone meal, feed, feed additives for pigs (except for additives containing synthetic and chemical substances) as well as polymer and cardboard boxes and cardboard gaskets for packaging.

The ban comes into force on May 17.
