Brazil bans 3 labs from food inspections

The Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture had officially banned the operation of three food inspection laboratories.

According to the report issued in the Official Gazette of the Brazilian Government, the decision was made afterward that laboratories played a role in the recent scandal of this country, which led to the loss of important export markets of Brazilian poultry products.

Accordingly, the laboratories are not authorized to process samples under the official control program of the Ministry. Previously, the laboratories had lost their ISO 17025 accreditation that was necessary for conducting tests approved by the ministry.

It seems that these laboratories are located in the provinces of Parana and São Paulo.
