The association of importers and exporters of chicken meat in South Africa warned against a 66 percent increase in the import Tariffs of chicken meat to the country.

By announcing the official statement, the association evaluated the result of such a sharp increase in prices in the country and the loss of job opportunities in this sector.

Some inform that the Ministry of Commerce and Industry plans to raise tariffs on imports of chicken meat to South Africa and this will be discussed for final approval on Monday. A topic that has caused many activists in this section to express concern.

Last week, the SAPA, welcomed the increase in import tariffs and spoke out of the country's heavy losses in importing chicken to South Africa.

Meanwhile, some experts believe that the government's commercial policy is only to protect the upstream industrial and strategic sectors and could be a source of undermining the agricultural industry in South Africa.
