Egypt's corn consumption has increased this year as demand has increased in sectors such as the poultry industry.

 

While some commentators believe that the migration of more than 5 million Iraqi, Suri, Libyan, Yemeni and Sudanese refugees to the country will also increase consumption.

Meanwhile, corn consumption in the country is projected to rise to 16.9 million tones in 2020 from 16.2 million tones in 2019.

According to estimates made by the Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture, the demand of its investors for poultry production has increased more than 2 times compared to previous years. Finally, the country's managers have decided to import 10 million tones of corn. 300,000 tons more than last year.
