India and Russia emphasized the strengthening of their joint cooperation in the fields of agriculture and poultry industry.

Vice-Chairman Rajiv Kumar and Russian Deputy Minister of Economic Development Timur Maksimov had come to a satisfactory conclusion in the field.

During the meeting, representatives of the two countries discussed the development of agricultural and processing sectors and emphasized the purchase and transfer of wheat, legumes, dried vegetables, sunflower oil and rapeseed oil from Russia and chicken meat from India.

The commentators believe that India is worried about the deficit in its bilateral trade with Russia, and thus it is trying to focus both sides on the path to the balance of trade between two countries.

It should be noted that India and the Soviet Union during the Cold War had a strong and strategic relationship in the military, economic and diplomatic sectors. The relationship that Russia has continued well after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
