The Indian Ministry of Health has banned the sale and distribution of Colistin and any formulation related to the animals that are consumed by humans.

The ban has been taken afterward, based on research, it has been proven that the above antibiotic has been used as a growth promoter in the animal feed that consumes by a human.

A matter which led the government of the country to issue a formal prohibition on this ban, in accordance with the regulations adopted in 1940.

The Central Government of India also announced that, on the suggestion of a panel of its advisers, is trying to ban the whole use of antibiotics in the animal breeding sector in the country.

It should be noted that the use of antibiotics as a growth promoter in animals in India has been criticized by many scholars and statesmen in recent years.
