Exports of chicken meat from Thailand to China have increased more than 700 percent over the first seven months of this year.

Analysts believe that rising prices for pork have led consumers to switch to poultry in China. This has led to increased demand for this product.

According to estimates, the EU and Japan are the main export targets for Thai chicken meat and given the growth in the Chinese market, it has become Thailand's third most important export destination.

In recent months, Chinese authorities have approved seven poultry meat production centers in Thailand to export products to the country and another 10 are in the process of approval. The process, if completed, could lead to more Thai chicken exports.
