Bangladesh seems to be on the verge of self-sufficiency in egg production and consumption.

Self-sufficiency in this area will help Bangladesh achieve the sustainable development goals set by the United Nations," said Ashraf Ali Khan Khosrow, Minister of State for Councils and Domain Affairs, in a statement.
According to estimates, every Bangladeshi is currently consuming an average of 103 eggs and is projected to increase to 105 by the end of the year.
It should be noted that according to FAO standards, each person must consume at least 104 eggs per year to stay healthy.
The results of new studies published by the US Department of Agriculture indicate that eggs produced in today's industrial systems have about 14 percent less cholesterol and 34 percent more vitamin A than similar products over the past ten years.
