Qatar is trying to send surplus production to export markets after self-sufficiency in poultry products.

According to government officials, the country has managed to achieve 100% self-sufficiency in the production of fresh poultry within two years after the economic blockade by its Arab neighbors.

Sheikh Dr Faleh bin Nasser al-Thani, the country's agriculture minister, believes that in the short term, the country will launch plans to export surplus production in the sector.
He said egg production in the country had also increased by up to 40%, and that by opening two modern farms in the near future, production would increase to an acceptable level.
Qatar's largest future plan for agriculture was to develop sustainable production by maintaining product quality by focusing on reducing water consumption-"Al-Thani said".
