Poland's poultry industry appears to have once again been involved with avian influenza for the first time since year 2017.

Local media have reported that more than 25.000 turkeys in the east of the country have been killed due to the H5N8 virus ouybreak and more than 40.000 will be culled.
According to the official announcement, biosecurity will take place in the Lubartow area which is one of the most important poultry areas in the country.
According to estimates, more than 350.000 poultry species within a 2 km radius of the outbreak will be at risk.
Poland with a 17% share is the largest poultry producer in the Europe .
The country exported more than one million tons of poultry meat to Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and France in the first six months of the 2019.
