Indonesia seems to have amended some of its commercial laws that would facilitate imports of poultry from Brazil.

The measures were taken the following Indonesia's announcement of a World Trade Organization statement that it violated the rules.

In October 2014, Brazil filed a complaint with the World Trade Organization against Indonesia claiming that it had restricted laws to prevent imports of poultry meat. The complaint, which led to the WTO's decision against Indonesia for nearly five years, and the controversial panel found at least four Indonesian policies in violation of its laws.

Meanwhile, senior executives in Indonesia's trade sector has acknowledged that any import of poultry cargo to the country must meet worldwide standards and specifications required by the Malaysian Halal Standard.
