The US Centers for Disease Control warned its citizens about the dangers of direct contact with poultry.

More than a thousand cases of Salmonella have been registered in the country this year alone, unfortunately two of which have resulted in deaths.
The center previously suggested handwashing with water and soap after contact with poultry owners at home. However, in recent days, the organization has issued a serious warning about kissing or direct contact of faces and mouths with the birds.
According to estimates made by the center over the course of the year, it has been proven that more than 46 percent of poultry and duck breeders in the United States allow these birds to enter their personal lives freely. This may increase the Salmonella occurring in these individuals.
