The Philippine government will boost its poultry industry

The Philippine government will boost its poultry industry to compensate for the pork meat deficit in the country.

The Philippines temporarily has banned the import and consumption of processed or preserved pork products from China, Vietnam, Zambia, South Africa, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Mongolia, Moldova, Belgium, Hungary, Latvia- Said The Philippines's Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel Piñol.

For this reason, the government has decided to import 300,000 tones of low-duty corn from the United States to boost the local poultry production.

"The government has expected growth in the country's poultry products," he said.

It should be noted that there has not been any case of ASF occurrence in the country, but all of the entry points in the Philippines are increasing the levels of bio-security against the entry of the virus causing the disease.
