Morocco's one hundred percent tariff for Brazilian chicken meat has made it harder to get into the market.

Morocco has signed a free trade agreement with several chicken breeding countries over the past years, which will make Brazilian producers virtually impossible to penetrate the market. At present, the tariff for beef is 200 percent and chicken meat is 100 percent.

Meanwhile, Brazil's new ambassador to Morocco, Julio Glinkternick Bitelli, believes that if they reconsider the tariffs, his country will be able to compete in this market.

Chicken meat is the traditional Brazilian export commodity to Arab countries, and Brazilian industry managers are working not only to maintain their export markets but also to increase their influence in the countries of the North African region.
