Zimbabwe's rising poultry production costs will lead to increased imports of cheap chicken meat into the country.

Government officials believe the increase in prices will spur legal and even illegal imports of these products. This is a matter of concern to the Poultry Society. According to estimates, reports of smuggled poultry imports into the country have increased dramatically in recent months as people's purchasing power declines.

According to estimates, poultry feed prices have risen more than 49 percent in the fourth quarter of 2018 compared to the third quarter.

Ultimately, experts believe that the decline in Zimbabwe's rainfall has forced farmers to raise crop prices, and this will certainly, affect the cost of poultry production.
