Highly Pathogenic avian influenza has spread in India's Chhattisgarh region.

Health officials have announced that more than 15.000 poultry and 30.000 eggs in the area have been quarantined and subsequently culled after H5N1 virus found in this region.
"Samples collected have been examined by the country's National Institute of Animal Research" according to officials.
Following the spread of disease, the district veterinarian plans to monitor 40 villages within a 10-km radius of the contamination site for three months and conduct random sampling in the area.
According to officials, there have been no reports of the human case in the area.
